Edison Surveys Respondents Terms of Service
Powered by Corvus
last updated: October 13, 2026
Thanks for participating in an Edison study powered by Corvus! Corvus is a service provided by PulseIQ Labs, Inc. ('PulseIQ Labs,' 'Corvus,' 'we,' 'us,' or 'our').
These Terms of Participation (“Terms”) explain your rights and responsibilities when taking part in research sessions or submitting responses through our platform (“Services”).
By participating in a Edison/Corvus session, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t participate.
1. Who Can Participate
You must be at least 18 years old and capable of giving informed consent to participate in research. You agree to provide honest, accurate information and not impersonate anyone else.
2. How Your Participation Works
By joining a study, you agree to:
Provide responses that are truthful and respectful
Participate without sharing sensitive personal data unless asked and you consent
Allow your responses (including video, audio, or written input) to be used for research and insight generation
Comply with any specific study instructions or rules
Participation is voluntary. You can choose not to answer any question, and you can stop participating at any time.
3. Consent to Recording
Many Corvus sessions involve video or audio recording. By participating, you're giving us permission to record and transcribe your session. Recordings are used to generate research insights for the Study Sponsor (which may include our customers and business partners) and to ensure the quality of the research process. Recordings and insights may be disclosed to the Study Sponsor.
Other than our disclosure to the Study Sponsor, we will not sell your recordings or use them for unrelated marketing. Any information that could identify you may be removed or masked when insights are shared.
4. Your Responses and Who Owns Them
When you participate in a study, the results (including your responses and the recordings) belong to Edison and the Study Sponsor. By joining the study, you're agreeing to their ownership of your contributions. Edison may also combine information you give us in your responses during the session with other information we have collected about you, including commercial insights derived from your activity on Edison Mail, and AI-generated insights, and disclose such information to the Study Sponsor.
PulseIQ Labs can use your responses to improve the platform. We also have permission to use what you share to run our service and make it better. If we use your responses to improve our platform or AI features, we'll only ever do that with information that can't be traced back to you personally. Corvus keeps ownership of the tools, technology, and methods we use to run studies, but not the content of your responses.
You keep ownership of anything you already owned. If you mention or describe something you created before the study (like your own work or ideas), that still belongs to you. Participating doesn't change that.
You're waiving certain attribution rights. In some places, you have a legal right to be credited for things you create. By participating, you're giving up that right as it relates to your responses in this study.
5. How We Use AI to Analyze Your Responses
Corvus is an AI-powered research platform. This means that when you participate in a study, your responses will always be processed by artificial intelligence, not just humans. We want to be upfront about what that means. Specifically, AI is used to:
Conduct the interview. Your session will be guided by an AI moderator, not a human interviewer.
Transcribe your responses. Your audio or video is automatically converted to text.
Analyze your responses. AI systems, including large language models, are used to identify themes, patterns, and sentiment in what you share.
Summarize findings. Your responses may be included in AI-generated summaries shared with the Study Sponsor.
No AI will make decisions that significantly affect your rights or opportunities based on your responses. AI is used purely to help organizations understand research findings faster and more accurately. If you have questions about how AI is used in a specific study, you can contact us at help@meetcorvus.ai.
6. Incentives and Payment
If you're offered an incentive for participating in a study, the details (including the amount, format, and timing) will be communicated to you before your session begins.
Incentives are fulfilled in one of two ways depending on the study:
Managed by PulseIQ. In some cases, PulseIQ handles incentive fulfillment directly using a third-party rewards service. In these cases, you'll receive your incentive via that service after your session is completed and verified.
Managed by the Study Sponsor. In other cases, the organization running the study is responsible for fulfilling your incentive. Corvus is not liable for delays or failures in payment when the Study Sponsor manages this process.
Quality requirements. Incentives are only provided for genuine, good-faith participation. We reserve the right to withhold an incentive if a session is completed but responses are deemed insufficient. An example would be a respondent who you provided minimal, incoherent, or clearly disengaged answers that don't meet the study's research requirements. If your incentive is withheld for this reason, we'll let you know.
You'll be informed before your session which party is responsible for your incentive. If you have questions or concerns about a payment, contact us at finance@meetcorvus.ai and we'll do our best to help..
7. Respectful Conduct
You agree not to:
Upload or say anything harmful, illegal, offensive, or misleading
Infringe on anyone’s intellectual property or privacy
Attempt to disrupt or misuse the platform
Confidentiality. Some studies may expose you to non-public information about the organization sponsoring the research, such as unreleased products, features, or business plans. If a study involves confidential information, you'll be informed before the session begins. In those cases, you agree not to share, discuss, or disclose that information with anyone outside the study.
Corvus reserves the right to remove you from a study or block participation if these guidelines are violated.
8. Data Handling and Privacy
We take your privacy seriously. For details on how your data is collected, used, and protected, please review the Edison Privacy Policy and Corvus Privacy Policy. Your responses may be stored and processed in accordance with applicable U.S. data laws.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Edison, PulseIQ Labs, Inc, and their affiliates, employees, partners, and service providers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your participation in research sessions or your use of the Corvus platform.
This includes, without limitation, damages related to:
loss of data
loss of opportunities
loss of earnings or incentives
interruptions in service
technical issues during a research session
In no event will Corvus's total liability arising out of or relating to your participation in a research study or use of the platform exceed $100 USD or the amount of incentives you received through the platform (whichever is greater).
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you.
10. Disclaimers
The research experience is provided “as-is.” We can’t guarantee outcomes or technical perfection. If something goes wrong (like a technical issue), we’ll do our best, but we’re not liable for indirect damages.
11. Dispute Resolution and Arbitration
If you have a dispute with PulseIQ Labs, Inc., you agree to first contact us at legal@meetcorvus.ai and attempt to resolve the issue informally within 30 days.
If the dispute cannot be resolved informally, it will be resolved through binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, rather than in court. Arbitration will be conducted by a single neutral arbitrator, and the arbitrator may award the same relief available in court.
You and Corvus agree that any claims will be brought only on an individual basis, and not as part of a class action or representative proceeding.
Nothing in this section prevents either party from bringing a claim in small claims court where permitted by law.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles.
12. Updates to These Terms
We may update these Terms occasionally. When we do, we’ll post changes here. Continuing to participate in studies means you accept any updates.
